The Urban Forest Effects (UFORE) Model: Quantifying Urban Forest Structure and Functions
The Urban Forest Effects (UFORE) computer model was developed to help managers and researchers quantify urban forest structure and functions. The Model quantifies species composition and diversity, diameter distribution, tree density and health, leaf area, leaf biomass, and other structural characteristics; hourly volatile organic compound emissions (emissions that contribute to ozone formation) throughout a year; total carbon stored and net carbon sequestered annually; and hourly pollution removal by urban forest and associated percent improvement in air quality throughout a year.
