Growing Pears
This pamphlet describes what pear varieties are hardy in New Hampshire and states how to protect the tree from pests and diseases.
"Pears will grow well throughout the southern half of New Hampshire. They are reasonably winter hardy where temperatures seldom fall below -25oF. Pears bloom about a week earlier than apples; spring frost may damage developing buds and flowers on frost-prone sites." [UNH Extension]
