Grass Roots Edible Urban Forestry

This program was aimed at establishing a diverse, mixed edible urban forest on vacant lots in Detroit.

This report summarizes the grass roots-driven edible urban forestry activities of several enthusiastic individuals who represent urban gardeners, local government, non-profit agencies and faith-based organizations. Their goal was to boost community self sufficiency, educate and connect community leaders, enhance the environment, reduce hunger and provide recreation to neighborhood citizens of Detroit.
