Firewood and Insects

This factsheet contains information on insects that are brought into homes with firewood.

Most of the insects that travel into homes on firewood create only a minor nuisance.  Many insects overwinter in spaces in and under bark and logs.  The trouble begins when the warmth of the indoors signals that it is time to begin spring activities.
