Dwarf Apple Trees for Home Gardens
This fact sheet describes the benefits of dwarf apple trees and how to plant and care for them.
Dwarf trees have many advantages over standard or seedling trees including smaller mature size and bearing fruit sooner after transplanting. The dwarfing is caused by grafting your desired stem onto dwarfing rootstock M.7 or M.9. Planting should occur in the spring and usually two varieties are necessary for pollination. This fact sheet describes the benefits of dwarf apple trees and how to plant and care for them.
