Chanhassen's Tree Coupon Program

A city program giving vouchers for discounts off trees at local garden centers encourages citizens to grow their urban forest themselves.

The Tree Coupon Program is one of many ways the city foresters of Chanhassen, MN are encouraging citizens to plant and grow their own trees. The coupons are good for $75 off a purchase of a tree at a local garden center. The trees must be a minimum size and chosen from a preapproved list of species. The article includes other measures the city has taken in order to encourage trees.
