With the proper procedures, it is possible to repair damage done to the cambium by rodents. This process reconnects the upper portion of the tree to the roots so that water, mineral, and carbohydrate transportation can resume. After grafting or inarching, a protective barrier should be installed to prevent further damage to the tree.
