SelecTree: a tree selection guide

Reference Type
Conference Proceedings (Chapter)

Appropriate tree selection requires knowledge of tree and site characteristics and their compatibility. Through a grant from the California Department of Forestry (CDF) a web-based tool, SelecTree (www.ufei.calpoly.edu), was developed to fulfill this requirement. SelecTree uses information from existing databases, and new research. SelecTree provides name and attribute searches on 1,485 trees, with 48 tree and site characteristics and has over 3,900 photos for 857 trees. [UMN]
