Planning installation of underground services

Reference Type
Conference Proceedings (Chapter)

In Britain, all essential services have been underground for many years, and street trees have accommodated to the situation. The threat to street trees has therefore been from maintenance rather (than) installation...The problem is assessed against the legal framework governing the regulation of trees and the environment in Britain; a way forward, which has been demonstrably successful in other areas of conflict, is proposed.
