This paper describes the development of urban forestry in Britain between the 1st National Urban Forestry Conference (March 1988) and the third such conference (August 1993). Two initiatives aimed at maintaining the momentum of the emerging urban forestry movement are outlined: the Stourbridge seminar and the launch of Urban Forests magazine. [UMN]
