Changing climate and the effects on vegetation in central European cities

Since the 1850s the effects of global climatic warming have been anticipated by the rise of temperature in many big cities. In addition, changes of vegetation in central European cities have been well documented. This paper explores, first of all, the changing urban distribution of some ruderal herbaceous species, and secondly distributional and physiological aspects of tree and shrub species in response to this rise in temperature.
