What is a citation?

The term citation on the UFS website refers to a research (journal, book, conference proceedings, USDA FS publication, etc.) article reference.

The word citation more generally refers to a "written reference to a specific work or portion of a work (book, article, dissertation, report) produced by a particular author (or editor) clearly identifying the document in which the work is to be found". UFS citations can be searched for keywords, have been cataloged by sub-topics, and can be printed.
